Anything still open carries into the next engineer's handover brief instead of dying in a channel. The one gap is an inbound number clients can dial; if that's a hard requirement, keep a dialer-based tool for that piece and run Shiftctl alongside it. On the Team plan, Shiftctl is handover-only and sits alongside your existing alerting tool.
